Alexa Rodriguez, LCPC

Alexa grew up in Las Vegas, giving her an in-depth understanding the unique needs of the community. She has worked in various community mental health roles since 2011, including the UNLV Disability Resource Center, Clark County court systems, and Family Services. She began her career in agency-based general mental health and substance abuse counseling after obtaining her Master's degree in clinical mental health counseling in 2018. Alexa’s approach to counseling is strongly person-centered, focusing on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and narrative-based techniques. Her personal philosophy is to make warmth and comfort in the counseling experience a goal, along with the incorporation of evidence-based techniques.

She provides compassion and understanding of the shared experiences and challenges of the millennial generation. As a new mother, she carries a passion for guiding women through the experience of pregnancy, postpartum, and early childhood development.

In her free time, Alexa enjoys watching live music, journaling, and spending quality time with her family and friends. She is a longtime Las Vegas local, Las Vegas Academy and UNLV alumni, wife, mom to two daughters, and caretaker to a menagerie of rescue animals.
